What I leared from the global warming project?
I leared from this project there is problem that suffer the earth which is global warming. Moreover, I have a lot of information about it include causes, effects, global warming in my country and solutions. Also, I improved searching way to get the right information and I learned how to use the advanced search in google. Finally, I want to thant Mrs. Molly for all her encourage and her supervision thruogh out the course.
MY ACTION AS AN INDIVIDUAL
In order to protect, preserve and improve the environment for present and future generations we have to work together hand by hand to prevent pollution, protect endangered animals and limit global warming effects .In this report I will mention specifically how can we as a part of this community play an effective role in limiting global warming causes and effects.
It is true that increase in the concentration of green houses such as methane and carbon dioxide will disturb the main component of gases found in the atmosphere and the heat balance we still can do something to protect our atmosphere. In an article written by Nina Mathew at the gulf newspaper published on19/05/2007 various thoughtful ideas were brought up to lighten up the reader by the truth that we always have soothing to do as an individual in preserving our beautiful planet.
First of all, we can change few things in our daily lifestyle. For example, saving energy by switching off the lights, unplugging the cell phone charger, reading, walking during our free time instead of watching TV or playing play station. This is important because electricity power comes from power plants that use coal and oil to make electricity. Burning these coal and oil will produce greenhouse gases that again will affect earth's temperature. So starting to plant trees is a good idea to get rid of excess carbon dioxide.. Second, we can try buying local products. This will not only reduce the need for transportation of imports but also encourage the country to enhance their products. Finally and most important we should conserve water as much as we can spread awareness at among our families and colleges.

COMMENT ON AN ARTICLE
"Our lovely planet is in danger" a title written in bold at the cover page of New York Times magazine. For once I looked around and I realized how careless we are towards our environment. In gulf newspaper an article titled "Native plants and animals face extinction" written by Emmanuelle Landais said that according to UAE marine biologist the new thermal changes as a result of global warming is affecting the animals' habitat such as Golden Toad. In addition, some types of fishes are affected by the rise in temperature and the normal reproduction cycle is disturbed. In my point of view, global warming is a series issue where we should stand and take an action. These species are endemic in UAE and protecting them is a right and important for a desert area like my country. Destroying our surrounding environment means killing and preventing new lives to live peacefully in a nature, clean and clear environment.

Water Distribution
The major effects of global warming occur through changes in water distribution. Higher temperatures are melting the ice in the far north and south of our planet. People, who live in these areas for example the Inuit in Nunavat, are already seeing changes in their environment which are affecting their day to day lives. There are other consequences which are being seen much further afield. The level of the oceans is rising, which threatens the survival of people who live in low-lying areas of the world such as the tiny Commonwealth island of Tuvulu. Ice heat much better than land, so as the ice caps melt less heat is lost by the Earth, accelerating the warming effect.
What are the effects of global warming?
Nowadays it seems as if global warming is blamed for everything. Unusually hot weather, unusually cold weather, floods, droughts, hurricanes, tornadoes, disease epidemics - even silent cuckoos have been linked to the gradual rise in the Earth's temperature. Also, The greenhouse effect is a natural process by which gasses in the Earth's atmosphere trap heat in the lower atmosphere that is generated by the sun, thus maintaining temperature on Earth that sustains life.

Ozone layer
There are many causes of global warming, I will talk about one cause which is ozone layer. The ozone layer is the earths’ shield which prevents amounts of ultra violet rays form reaching the fragile organic life beneath. Without this natural protective layer many living organisms on earth will not be able to tolerate the harmful ultra violet rays which will lead to their extinct. Therefore, unbalanced biological deficiency will significantly and rapidly affect other species. Hole in the ozone layer may form because of reaction with chloroflorocarbons allowing ultra violet light to reach the earth easily. As a result, serious environmental and health catastrophes will occur. The main factor that causes most of the ozone layer erosion is chloroflorocarbons, and they are industrial produced and mainly used as refrigerant in many applications these days. Manufactures are hard working side by side with specialized foundations and institutes to find other environment friendly compounds preventing the ozone from weakening.
